Joel Kallman
Varsity Head Coach
Joel brings over three decades of experience with the game of soccer as both a player and a coach. His playing career includes a competitive history, highlighted by winning a High School State Championship and playing at the collegiate level. He remains active in the sport by playing indoor soccer and summer pickup games. He is passionate about coaching and is dedicated to the skill, character, and faith development that occurs through soccer. Off the field he is actively involved in church along with his wife and four children.

Bob Sponable
Varsity Assistant Coach
Bob started coaching soccer in 2009. Two years later he received his coaching license and started coaching with his local club, TASC. He coached three of his daughters from U9 – U19. In 2017 Bob started coaching the Hornets girls varsity team. After several successful seasons He helped start the fall season program. In the first two years the team finished 4th at the national tournament and won state in back to back seasons. In 2023 he coached both girls and boys. In 2024 he coached the varsity boys to a Div 3 national championship and a Div 2 runner-up in 25.

Madison Slezinski
Varsity Assistant Coach
Madison Slezinski is currently a junior playing soccer at Aquinas College. There, she competed in national championship tournaments all three years and has won first team and second team all conference accolades. Academically, she is a dual major in Business Administration and Sport Management with a minor in marketing. She aspires to continue working in sports and expand her knowledge as a coach, while sharing her passion and knowledge with the players. This is her third season with the Hornets and is thrilled to be back, challenging players to be the best they can, on and off the field. Off the field, she enjoys going to the gym and going home to visit family on the east side of the state in Fenton.

Payton Jeltema
Jr. Varsity Head Coach
Coach Payton Jeltema brings over 10 years of competitive soccer experience, including high-level club soccer in Florida and England, four years of high school play, and three years at Grace Christian University.
He is passionate about developing players both on and off the field, emphasizing character, teamwork, and strong fundamentals. Payton has been married to his wife, Jennie Sue, for nearly three years and is a proud father to their daughter, Emberlynn. He also serves as a youth group leader at his church and enjoys cheering on Tottenham Hotspur F.C., spending time with family, and growing in his faith.

Jennie Sue Jeltema
Jr. Varsity Assistant Coach
Jennie Sue is a former club, high school, and five-year collegiate player at Grace Christian University, where she helped win a National Championship. After a season-ending injury her last year, she discovered her passion for coaching and investing in others beyond the field.
Jennie Sue is a patient and compassionate competitor who is dedicated to developing girls as athletes and as Believers in Christ. She has been married to her husband Payton for nearly three years and is a stay-at-home mom to their daughter, Emberlynn. She enjoys running and outdoor time with her family.

Coach Summer has been playing soccer for 15 years and is a Hornets Alumni that has been a part of the organization for 9 years including 3 years of coaching.
In her time away from the field, she loves traveling, all things music and supporting Manchester United.
